About the School Health Safeguarding Team

We are the School Health Safeguarding Team - a team of specialist public health nurses (also known as school nurses), registered nurses, and public health assistants.

What we offer

  • Holistic health assessments for children on a Child Protection (CP) or Child in Need (CIN) plan with consent

  • Accident and Emergency (A&E) follow ups

  • Partnership working with multi-professional agencies

  • One-to-one health promotion

  • Looked After Children (LAC) health assessments for children who attend a Lewisham school
     

How to access this service

To access this service, your child must:

  • Be on a CP plan, CIN plan or be home educated

  • Attend a school in Lewisham

  • Live in Lewisham, if home educated or not attending school

  • Be aged between 5 and 19 years old

  • Have an allocated social worker
     

Our availability

We are available Monday to Friday from 8am to 4pm. 

There is a nurse on duty every day who will respond to your telephone and email enquiries.
