Start for Life
Start for Life Lewisham is a two-year government funded programme under the Family hub Initiative that supports with parenting in the early years, including infant feeding and perinatal mental health (perinatal is the period from pregnancy to the first year of a child’s life).

The early years can be challenging for families, and the Start for Life team can offer additional help and enhanced care to support existing health visiting and maternity care.
If you are a parent who would like additional support or help, please let your midwife or health visitor know.
If you feel you cannot speak about it with your current team, please email us at the address above. We aim to respond within 48 hours.
If you are having suicidal thoughts, please call 999 or, if you can, go to A&E or visit the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust website
If you need additional support with Infant feeding, please visit one of our hubs across the borough. We can offer support for complex feeding challenges and are happy to signpost to the service that’s best for you.
