October's LGT Star of the Month!
Congratulations to Urja Bhatt, Physiotherapist at Queen Elizabeth Hospital who has been chosen as our LGT Star of the Month for October 2024.
Urja was nominated for the ‘Star Player Award’ and here is why:
“Urja is a dedicated physiotherapist in our Emergency Department (ED). Her exemplary actions during a recent incident demonstrate her professionalism, proactivity, and commitment to patient care, making her a deserving candidate for this recognition.
During the incident, Urja recognised the urgency of the situation and acted quickly, demonstrating her ability to remain composed under pressure. She communicated effectively with her colleagues, ensuring everyone understood the critical nature of the incident.
As the medical team arrived, Urja continued to support the patient, providing reassurance and monitoring the patient’s condition. Her collaboration with the ED team was seamless, and together they stabilised the patient.
Urja’s proactive measures, effective communication, and adherence to protocols were pivotal in ensuring the patient received timely and life-saving care. Her actions exemplify the highest standards of professionalism and dedication in our field.”
Urja was congratulated by her colleagues and presented with her certificate,a £100 voucher from LGT, and a fruit basket donated by Hasan Er, who runs the fruit stall at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
A surprised Urja, said: "I am extremely honoured and grateful to be awarded the LGT Star of the Month. It means a lot to be acknowledged for my part in caring for our patients, especially at such a critical moment. Working alongside such dedicated colleagues makes each challenging situation easier to deal with, and I am thankful for the teamwork, trust, and support that surround me daily.

Ewerton Soares, Key Account Director, ISS Facilities who chaired this month’s judging panel commented: “Urja has gone above and beyond her role and really portrayed the LGT values in an emergency. She not only did that in a life-saving situation and under pressure, she also was able to remain calm and adherence to protocols.
“Urja is a physiotherapist who understands the needs and pressure of the emergency department, where she works, and she has shown compassion, teamwork skills and care; even when the medical team arrived, she continued to provide support and reassurance to the patient. She is an asset to LGT.”
