Virtual work experience for 14 to 19 year olds
We have teamed up with Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust to offer local students who are aged between 14 and 19 virtual work experience in the NHS.
This new course will allow 400 local people to explore what it is like working in the NHS, and will include live webinars with staff from a range of different roles. Please do let your family and friends know about this exciting new opportunity. To apply to spend a week finding out about a clinical career in the NHS, or a week finding out about many of the non-clinical roles in the NHS.
The courses run between 28 March and 1 April 2022 outside school and college hours, and the deadline for applying is 16 March 2022.
Chief People Officer Meera Nair said: “We’ve introduced this as part of our commitment to provide our local communities opportunities to develop rewarding careers at the Trust. We’re keen to build on this initiative and offer more even work experience opportunities in future – so please fill in our online work experience opportunities form if you and your team are interested in offering a placement to local people.”
The online work experience is open to those living in Bexley, Dartford, Gravesham, Greenwich and Lewisham.
Youth Board
Another great opportunity for young people to learn more and make a difference to their local health service is through joining our Youth Board, open to anyone aged 14-18.
Since the launch, our young board members have toured the children’s areas across site and started work on the ‘You’re Welcome’ national standards project, to make sure we're as young person-friendly as possible.
If you'd like to join the Youth Board, you can fill in our application form or contact lg.transitioncns@nhs.net for more details. You can also share this flyer with any young person you know who might be interested!
