LGT Christmas Toy Appeal 2024 now open
Our Trust Charity Christmas Toy Appeal 2024 is now officially open. With Christmas just around the corner, this is the perfect opportunity to spread some festive cheer to the young patients in our care at LGT.
We are inviting local communities to support our appeal by donating toys for children at University Hospital Lewisham (UHL) and Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH), who will be spending Christmas in hospital instead of at home with their families. Your generous gifts will bring joy to those who need it most this festive season.
We welcome new toys in the original packaging for our young patients (aged 0 to 16) during their hospital stay, such as:
- Baby toys, educational toys, sensory items, arts and crafts sets, board games and toiletries gift sets.
- The Trust Charity asks that you do not wrap your gifts and are unable to accept cuddly toys.
Toys can be dropped off at University Hospital Lewisham and Queen Elizabeth Hospital’s main reception, between 10am and 3pm each day until 22 December.
Robert Cole, Head of Nursing for Children and Young People, said: “Every child deserves to experience the joy of Christmas, and our annual toy appeal helps ensure that those who must spend the festive break in hospital are still able to feel that magic. We are incredibly grateful to our local communities for their continued generosity. These are challenging times for many, but if you’re able to spare anything, please consider donating. A small gesture can make a big difference, bringing comfort and joy to a young patient at a time when they may be missing home the most.”
