New bladder and bowel service for children

We’ve launched a new bladder and bowel service to support children who are already toilet trained who develop continence issues. This service is now open to children and young people registered with a GP in the London Borough of Lewisham. To be referred they must meet the age criteria:

  • Daytime wetting: 5 to 16 years
  • Constipation: age 3 to 16 years

Please note: Young people aged between 16 to 18 years, can ONLY be referred if they attend a Lewisham Special Needs School.

This new service, based at the Kaleidoscope Children’s Centre, accepts referrals from GPs, hospital doctors and paediatricians.

There are lots of different reasons why a child might start wetting during the day time or experience constipation. If you would like support with your child’s continence, please discuss a referral to our specialist service with your child’s doctor.
