LGT Stars of the Month January

Congratulations to the Adult Safeguarding Teams at LGT, our LGT Stars of the Month for January 2025.
The teams were nominated for the ‘All Stars Team Award’ and here is why:
“The Safeguarding teams are unsung heroes, dedicated to giving a voice to our most vulnerable patients. They work tirelessly alongside colleagues at LGT, care providers, and local authorities to ensure patients’ safety and wellbeing.
"The team is always on hand to offer support and guidance, not only to patients but also to colleagues.
"Every team member is committed to placing the patient at the heart of what they do, making sure everyone is given the support they need and a clear understanding of the process. The team’s responsiveness and passion for their work are evident in their efforts to empower some of our most vulnerable service users. It’s hard to fully capture in words the immense positive impact they have.”
Mike Bell, Chair at LGT, recently congratulated several team members and presented them with certificates during the Trust Board meeting at University Hospital Lewisham. In addition, they received a £100 voucher, generously donated by the Trust, and a fruit basket, kindly donated by Hasan, who runs the fruit stall at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Frankie Campbell, Lead Nurse for Adult Safeguarding, said: “We are delighted to receive the Star of the Month Award. The slogan 'Safeguarding is Everyone's Business' is reflected in daily practice by our dear friends and colleagues across TeamLGT. So, this award reflects the hard work done to protect people's rights by our colleagues in security, admin, AHP, medical and nursing teams, as well as by the Safeguarding Adults teams. We will continue in our mission to support LGT to deliver best practice in rights-informed care.”
Peter Barnes, Head of PTS South East London at HATS Group, who chaired this month’s judging panel, commented: “There have been numerous instances of amazing nominations, and it’s been difficult to choose. However, we believe the Safeguarding team, as highlighted by the nominee, are true unsung heroes, making sure the most vulnerable patients have a voice.”
