Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust Charity Winter Appeal
Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust and the Trust Charity are inviting our local community to give a gift to our patients in need this winter.
We are asking for donations that will enable us to buy gifts for our young patients (aged 0-16) who are too ill to go home at Christmas, as well as winter clothing for patients whose relatives cannot bring them warm clothing for when they return home from hospital.
Donations to our Charity Winter Appeal can be made via JustGiving:

This year we are also able to accept toy donations; however due to Covid-19 guidelines these must be new toys in the original packaging, in cellophane wrapping if possible but no gift wrapping, and no soft/cuddly toys. Donated items such as baby toys, educational toys, arts and crafts sets, board games and toiletries gift sets would be greatly appreciated.
Donations can be dropped off at University Hospital Lewisham and Queen Elizabeth Hospital’s main reception, between 10am and 3pm each day until 22 December.
People must not drop off donations to the hospital if they have symptoms/tested positive for Covid-19 or a member of their household has tested positive, but can instead donate via Justgiving if they wish to.
Margarita Vidiella, Head of Charity explained: “We are so appreciative for all of the support we’ve received from our local communities over the last 18 months and would be incredibly grateful if you could once again get behind us and donate online for these two fantastic campaigns. You’ll truly make a difference to our patient’s lives.”
Robert Cole, Head of Nursing Children & Young People explained: “Your generosity will help us to purchase new toys specially selected by our play specialists. These will be handed out on Christmas Day to all of the children at Queen Elizabeth Hospital and University Hospital Lewisham who are too ill to go home for the festive period."
Kate Hudson, Lead Dementia Nurse Specialist explained: "It can sometimes be difficult for patient’s relatives to bring them in warm clothing, so we would like to make sure that every patient leaves our hospitals warm and cosy. We are hoping to purchase warm fleeces, jogging bottoms, hats and gloves from the appeal and your kindness will help make that happen.”
