Hospital appointment notifications via the NHS App
Our patients can now receive notifications via the NHS app thanks to our Patient Portal.
If you have have the NHS App, they will now receive NHS App notifications about your hospital appointments at University Hospital Lewisham and Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Please note that NHS App notifications are not yet available for Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust community appointments.
These notifications will let patients know when future hospital appointments with acute specialties are booked and remind you about your appointment close to the appointment date.
- Patients who use the NHS APP on a mobile device will receive an NHS App notification instead of a text message or email reminder.
- If you do not have the NHS App or the notification is not read within 8 hours or 9pm, whichever is the soonest, our Patient Portal partner, DrDoctor will send you an SMS message or email reminder. (Patients will receive an SMS/email at 11am the following day if the 9pm cut off prevents the email/SMS from being sent.)
We are delighted that all LGT hospital specialties can now send booking confirmation texts/emails and 14-day and 28-day appointment reminders via DrDoctor. These SMS/email notifications will now also go via the NHS App.
Patients can already see details of all LGT future booked hospital outpatient appointments on the NHS app. This includes the time, date, location and specialty details, which saves you from contacting the Trust to ask for details about your next appointment.
Many patients use the NHS App to order prescriptions and book GP appointments. Joining our Patient Portal up with the NHS App will be of real benefit if you find it convenient to have all your health information in one place.
