Get protected against flu
Flu cases are rising across south east London. As a result, health services are under increased pressure, with more patients coming into hospital sick and needing urgent care. In some hospitals up to a third of admissions are because of flu.
The flu vaccine can protect those most vulnerable from getting seriously ill. Hundreds of thousands of people in south east London have already had their vaccine this winter. If you’re eligible but haven’t had yours yet, book with your GP or visit a walk-in clinic.
Our walk-in clinic is based in the Lessof Auditorium, on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 8am–4pm, for Covid and flu vaccines.
An extreme cold snap is expected this weekend. Low temperatures can be dangerous for those who are vulnerable or have respiratory conditions so if you are at risk, try and keep warm and make sure you are stocked up on any regular medication.
Please continue to use NHS 111, through the NHS app, online (111.nhs.uk) or by calling 111, if you need advice and support for health conditions, and only use 999 or attend A&E in life-threatening emergencies.
Unsure about getting vaccinated? You can download this useful leaflet on who should have the vaccine and why, where you can find more information and answers to common questions you may have.
