Changes to vascular services at LGT

Over the last few years, patients using our vascular service have seen increased waiting times, leading to concerns about equitable access to vascular care across south east London. To address this, the management of the vascular service, including service delivery and administration, will be transferred to Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust and Guy's and St Thomas' will assume full management of the service from 1 April 2025.

Continued vascular services at our hospitals

Vascular outpatient appointments and varicose vein procedures will all continue to operate at University Hospital Lewisham and Queen Elizabeth Hospital, and will be coordinated by Guy's and St Thomas'. Some patients may be offered the option of an earlier date at St Thomas’ Hospital should they wish to be seen there.

All colleagues providing vascular care at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust will remain based at University Hospital Lewisham and Queen Elizabeth Hospital. There will be no changes to acute vascular services or diabetic foot services.
