Specialty Advice and Guidance

There are lots of ways that GPs can receive advice and guidance about a speciality or specific patient, including:

NHS e-Referral Service

All the services we provide via the NHS e-Referral Service have Advice and Guidance enabled. This allows GPs to identify a patient from their clinical system, choose the appropriate service on the system and submit a question directly to the consultant.

The NHS e-Referral Service allows the GP to attach documents, letters, scans etc. The Consultant/Clinician reply will be sent directly to the GP and can be converted into an appointment request by the GP if required.

Via Specialty Email Addresses

We have set up a series of email adresses specifically to provide advice and guidance for GPs.

Please note that these email addresses have been set up to provide information only and referrals cannot be accepted via these accounts.

At this stage, these email addresses relate to services in Lewisham only. We have plans in place to introduce email accounts for services in Greenwich shortly.

Via GP Liaison Leads

We want to make it as easy as possible for GPs to discuss any issues they might have, and have introduced GP liaison leads in each of our clinical divisions.

Enquiries can also be directed straight to our Director of GP Liaison, Dr Peter Luce, who can be emailed at peter.luce@nhs.net  or called on 020 3192 6714.
