Guidance for parents with unwell children

Sepsis is a life threatening condition. Every year in the UK there are 150,000 cases of Sepsis, resulting in a staggering 44,000 deaths.

The UK Sepsis Trust was established as a charity in 2012 and is committed to raising public awareness and supporting those affected.

If your child has any of these symptoms you should take immediate action:

  • Looks mottled, bluish or pale
  • Is very lethargic or difficult to wake
  • Feels abnormally cold to touch
  • Is breathing very fast
  • Has a rush that does not fade when you press it
  • Has a fit or convulsion.

There is lots of great information in their website: http://sepsistrust.org/
