About the Campaign
We have launched this campaign to raise awareness of recent improvements at Lewisham Hospital, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, and to NHS services in the community.
The unique campaign, which features NHS signage next to famous local landmarks like the Cutty Sark and Hall Place, also illustrates our position at the heart of the local area, with our strapline ‘serving our local communities’ a key part of the promotion.
A wide range of improvements are highlighted throughout the campaign, including the recent expansion of emergency facilities at both Lewisham Hospital and Queen Elizabeth Hospital, a significant increase in staffing levels across the Trust, and a number of brand new facilities, such as the Greenwich Birth Centre.
Claire Champion, our Director of Nursing and Clinical Quality, said of the campaign:
“Since Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust was formed in October 2013, we have been working hard to respond to feedback from local people and enhance the services we provide. During this time we have made a wide range of improvements that are tailored to the specific needs of our local communities, and it’s important for us to make sure the people we serve are aware of this work.”
David Cocke, our Head of Communications, added:
“We have spoken to a large number of patients over the past few months, and not everyone has known about the developments across the Trust. We hope local people will now have a better understanding of the improvements that have been made, so that they can always feel 100% confident when choosing us for their care.”
Many Additional Nurses
We have added more than 200 nursing staff across our sites, including many more nurses at Lewisham hospital and Queen Elizabeth Hospital. We plan to recruit even more staff over the coming months.
Improving Emergency Care
We are working with partners to make improvements for patients who need emergency care. Recent work has included opening wards and increased the number of beds for patients who come through our emergency departments and need to be admitted.
